ABOUT US

Here at Honest Open Permaculture aka HOP Farm, we are a small local homestead that is continuously working to become as self-sustainable as we can through permaculture practices and principles. What does that mean you ask? Permaculture is a system of agricultural and social design principles centered around simulating or directly utilizing the patterns and features observed in natural ecosystems. To us that means we intend to produce our own meat, vegetables, fruit, water and energy on our almost 11 acres of paradise.

We plan to sell the abundance of our clean nutrient dense food in an Honest and Open manner through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture aka produce boxes), a small roadside stand here at the farm and a few local farmers markets throughout the year.
Although we are not certified organic, we do not use any chemical fertilizers, pesticides or fungicides. We do use organic and permaculture principles and practices. All our animals are antibiotic and steroid free. They are moved to fresh ground daily or weekly depending on the animal. Our moto, which was adopted from Joel Salatin, is our animals have a great life with 1 bad day!

We allow and encourage you to come visit us! We'd like for you to see for yourself our plant growing and animal raising systems with a 100% transparent open door policy.
